Martha H. Fitzgerald, an award-winning editor, author, and independent publisher, served the Shreveport Times as columnist and editorial board member for ten years. Other roles included associate editorial page editor, assistant managing editor, business editor, and features editor. The Louisiana native co-founded Little Dove Press in 2004 and Martha Fitzgerald Consulting in 2005.

A past president of River Cities Network and Louisiana Press Women, Fitzgerald serves on the boards of Catholic Charities-Diocese of Shreveport and LSU Health Foundation-Shreveport. She earned a B.A. in history and American studies from Loyola University-New Orleans and a master’s in history from Louisiana Tech University. She’s a lector and minister of care at St. John Berchmans Cathedral.

Fitzgerald and her husband enjoy living on a quiet country road in a bend of Louisiana’s Red River. She has an adventuresome spirit and relishes far-flung travel. Recent stamps on her passport include Peru, Russia, Greece, and Czech Republic, her father’s ancestral homeland.
