Brrr — back to winter on this mini-book tour in Boston area. On our way to my friend’s home near Worcester, we stopped at the historic Mount Auburn Cemetery, Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Nothing in bloom but a few crocuses and snowdrops, although the thousands of bare trees had their own sculptural beauty. Saw the graves of New England authors, statesmen and poets, including Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Even new graves–this is still an active grave site. One of the most touching, however, was this dog grave with a few roses at its feet. The inscription: 1843 M.P.S. 1848.
We will make several store visits before a Catholic TV interview on Friday.
