On the road … in Minnesota

At Rochester Public Library, where I “premiered” a slide show mixing photos my father took here in 1937 and photos I took five years ago. I call it “They Met at Mayo’s.”

So happy to see Renee Ziemer and Karen Koka of Mayo Historical Unit. They were invaluable in helping me with early stages of research, creating the annotated version of the entire letters collection (1,250 footnotes!).

The evening was co-sponsored by the Olmsted County Historical Center. I did research there and at the library too.

The library is a magnificent space. One idea definitely worth duplicating: They have their own library bookstore! When authors come in, their books are ready and on the table to be signed …Another example of an “indie” bookstore.
